Cover Reveal: My Super Sweet 16th Century

The cover for My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris has been revealed!

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris
Release Date: September 11, 2012
Publisher: Entangled Publishing

Summary:

On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.

Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore.

Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?
And an excerpt has also been released:

Alessandra jerks back like I just suggested she prance around the square naked or something.

“No! I believe I understand your meaning, and Lorenzo is certainly not my suitor. He is like a brother to me—the three of us grew up together.”

She resumes walking and I fall in step beside her, understanding there has to be more to the story.

And as we near the end of the row, I finally ask, “If you’re not into the guy, then what’s the problem?”
At that same moment, a rich, deep chuckle hits my ears. My stomach involuntarily clenches and my gaze sharpens on the back of this mysterious Lorenzo.

Alessandra sighs. “That is the problem.” She places her hand on my arm and solemnly looks me in the eyes. “You must be careful. Lorenzo is beautiful, and it is not uncommon for a girl to walk away from meeting him with a piece of her heart left behind. But he is just eighteen, and not yet ready for marriage.”

I roll my eyes and laugh, then realize she’s serious. “Yeah, I assure you, there’s no danger on my end. I’m not exactly looking for marriage myself.” Because that would be crazy-town.

Alessandra wrinkles her nose as if she doesn’t believe me, but she removes her hand. We close the distance and Cipriano flashes me an open, honest to goodness, lighthearted smile.

“Lorenzo, this is the cousin I was telling you about.”

Slowly the guy turns and I fall head first into the richest chocolate-brown eyes I’ve ever seen. He blinks and long, luscious lashes feather across his bronzed cheeks.

I can feel myself gawking, but I physically can’t drag my eyes away. Lorenzo doesn’t smirk or act all conceited, either. He simply stares back, his eyes casually skimming over me, causing my skin to warm and break out in a whole body tingle.

Time seems to stop, and the sounds of the market mute. Alessandra was right.

This boy is beautiful.

And he’s looking at me.

Cover Reveal: Pretty Amy by Lisa Burstein

Release Date: May 15, 2012
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Sometimes date is a four-letter word.

Amy is fine living in the shadows of beautiful Lila and uber-cool Cassie, because at least she’s somewhat beautiful and uber-cool by association. But when their dates stand them up for prom, and the girls take matters into their own hands—earning them a night in jail outfitted in satin, stilettos, and Spanx—Amy discovers even a prom spent in handcuffs might be better than the humiliating “rehabilitation techniques” now filling up her summer. Worse, with Lila and Cassie parentally banned, Amy feels like she has nothing—like she is nothing.

Navigating unlikely alliances with her new coworker, two very different boys, and possibly even her parents, Amy struggles to decide if it’s worth being a best friend when it makes you a public enemy. Bringing readers along on an often hilarious and heartwarming journey, Amy finds that maybe getting a life only happens once you think your life is over.
I love this cover! It has a very mellow feel about it, suiting the premise of the story really well! Upon first reading the synopsis, this story sounds very similar to Ditched: A Love Story. I am looking forward to reading this book, and I hope you are, too!

But wait! That is not all. With the story being related to prom, Lisa Burstein is going to be doing a Worst Prom Photo contest. Send in your pictures where your pearly whites are covered in metal, or your high-standing hair can rival a skyscraper for a chance to win a beauty package. Check out Lisa Burstein’s website for more information about the contest and how to enter! Lisa also shared her prom photo with us!

Cover Reveal: Through to You

The cover for Through to You by Emily Hainsworth has finally been revealed! It is due out October 2nd, 2012, and it will be published by Balzer + Blay / HarperCollins.

Release Date: October 2, 2012

Summary (taken from Goodreads):

A romantic sci-fi thriller about love and second chances.

Camden Pike has been grief-stricken since his girlfriend, Viv, died. Viv was the last good thing in his life: helping him rebuild his identity after a career-ending football injury, picking up the pieces when his home life shattered, and healing his pain long after the pain meds wore off. And now, he’d give anything for one more glimpse of her. But when Cam makes a visit to the site of Viv’s deadly car accident, he sees some kind of apparition. And it isn’t Viv.

The apparition’s name is Nina, and she’s not a ghost. She’s a girl from a parallel world, and in this world, Viv is still alive. Cam can’t believe his wildest dreams have come true. All he can focus on is getting his girlfriend back, no matter the cost. But things are different in this other world: Viv and Cam have both made very different choices, things between them have changed in unexpected ways, and Viv isn’t the same girl he remembers. Nina is keeping some dangerous secrets, too, and the window between the worlds is shrinking every day. As Cam comes to terms with who this Viv has become, and the part Nina played in his parallel story, he’s forced to choose—stay with Viv or let her go—before the window closes between them once and for all.
This definitely seems like an exciting read, so be sure to add it to your to-be-read pile! Also, be sure to check out Emily Hainsworth's blog and website for more info! And last but not least, follow Emily on Twitter! I hope you are looking forward to this book as much as I am! Is it October yet?

Inbetween Cover Reveal!

Tara Fuller has a new book coming out August 7, 2012. entitled Inbetween, and the cover for the book has been revealed!

Inbetween (Kissed by Death, #1) by Tara Fuller
Release Date: August 7, 2012

Summary:

Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky—and unending—lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate
has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him
hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn't let her die before,
and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves
from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the
only thing he has left…his soul.
I like this cover! To be honest, when I read the synopsis of this book, the story of Death falling in love with a human reminded me a lot of Abbi Glines's Existence. I enjoyed Existence (and you can read my review of it here), so I am really looking forward to Fuller's book! It seems really interesting!

Obsidian Novella and vlog!!!

So yesterday on her blog, Jennifer L. Armentrout revealed that there would be a novella to the Lux series. The novella will be called Shadows with an expected release date of sometime in February 2012. Here is what she posted:
For those who follow me on twitter, you've seen some lines from the Obsidian novella I've been working on.  Here are some of the lines for your viewing pleasure. Keep reading, 'cuz I got news for you.

Sheer grit got him off the ground. Immeasurable stupidity had him bum rushing the thick shadow coming at him like a suped up bulldozer.

Because gosh, he kissed her like he’d been starving to do so.
Funny how seeing a culinary work of art go to waste made you mean as a sneak.

Breathless, she stared up at him and swallowed hard. “Okay. You have reflexes of a cat on steroids.”

“She makes me happy. And shouldn’t that make you happy? For me? Without her...yeah, it wouldn't even matter.”

Daemon strung together an atrocity of f-bombs. Quite imaginative, too, and even Matthew looked impressed.

There are some of the teasers I've given, but I've never, ever said who the book is actually about or what POVs you will be seeing in the novella. Details are below!

"Shadows"
Expected Publication 02/2012
Novella
Currently only planned in digital format w/ limited paper copies.

The story is told in 3 POVs.
Yes, one of them is Daemon.
But the story is really about two other characters introduced in Obsidian that are near and dear to my little heart.
The story is about Dawson and Bethany. Yep, Dawson as in Daemon's twin brother.

I am so, so excited for you to read their story, plus sharing Daemon pre-Obsidian, which is really cool. At some point, the cover and the official blurb will be shared.

In other news, Entangled will be launching a super awesome contest on Saturday. You guys are going to LOVE this. Also, it's been ages since I've done a vlog, so....

Tuesday Dec 13th 6:00pm EST
We can chat about Obsidian and Half-Blood or whatever
You can view my live vlog HERE
Hopefully I will have Pure ARCs to show and give away by then.
There was also an updated teaser of a scene between Daemon and Dawson:

The foyer was dark, and as he stopped, he frowned. Music thumped through the house. The lyrics Whoop, there it is! blasted from the speakers. He knew before he entered the living room that Daemon was listening to one of those TV channels that played nothing but music.

Sprawled across the couch, with his arms behind his head, Daemon moved his bare feet in perfect sync to the song.

Dawson’s brows arched up. “Whoop there it is?”

“What?” He tilted his head toward Dawson, grinning. “I like the song.”

“You have such questionable musical taste.”

“Don’t hate.”
OH. MY. GOD. Jennifer L. Armentrout, you have just made my day! After reading Obsidian, I was really curious about what down with Dawson and Bethany, and it seems like my curiosity will finally be quenched. And I will definitely not object to getting some more Daemon.

She also included these pics in her post (since they are purdy):
